Statistics are often a good start for a brand campaign. Especially for Volkswagen, as it seems. Just some days ago, we posted the UK campaign “Dont’ make up & drive”, which also based on accident statistics.
Now a new spot emerged for Volkswagen Accessories that promotes the voice control function in the new Touch Phone Kit. The idea is based on the fact, that in 18% of all fatal distracted-driving crashes cell phones are involved. German agency agenta Agenturgruppe have developed a somewhat different banner: It allows voice-video calls via Facebook. That alone would not truly be too original. The trick is that the caller appears quite differently than he thinks – the video application superimposes a stearing wheel and hands which simulates a conversation that is out of a moving car.
The best part: When the call ends, the users who initiated the call receive a message on the banner forwarding them to the e-shop. And a screenshot of the call is posted to their Facebook wall.
